Our Certifications
USDA Organic · Laos Organic · HACCP · GMP — what each means for your brandWhen you source a supplement ingredient, certifications are not bureaucratic checkboxes — they are your legal and commercial defence. They prove to your own auditors, retailers, and end consumers that the raw material arrived clean, traceable, and produced to a defined standard. Asia Eco Farm holds four internationally recognised certifications covering organic integrity, food safety management, and pharmaceutical-grade manufacturing.

USDA Organic
The USDA National Organic Program (NOP) is the world's most recognised organic standard and is legally enforced under US federal law. Achieving USDA Organic certification requires:
- No use of synthetic pesticides, chemical fertilisers, herbicides, or GMOs at the farm level
- A documented three-year transition period before certification is granted
- Annual third-party on-site inspections of both the farm and the processing facility
- Full traceability from seed to finished ingredient
Why it matters for your brand: USDA Organic is the entry ticket to US natural retail (Whole Foods, iHerb, Amazon Premium) and is increasingly required by EU and Asian importers even when US market access is not the goal. Using USDA Organic-certified ingredients removes the most common barrier to premium positioning.
Asia Eco Farm's Sacha Inchi Oil and Protein Powder are USDA Organic certified.
Laos Organic
Laos Organic certification is issued under the organic agricultural standards of the Lao People's Democratic Republic (Lao PDR), administered through the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry (MAF). It covers all farm-level practices at our Laos cultivation sites, including:
- No synthetic pesticides, herbicides, or GMOs
- Soil management and input controls aligned with international organic principles
- Annual third-party farm inspection
- Full traceability from seed lot to harvest record
Why it matters for your brand: Laos Organic certification provides the government-backed farm-level foundation for organic claims on Sacha Inchi sourced from our Laos operations. Combined with USDA Organic certification, it gives buyers a documented organic supply chain from field to finished ingredient across our Southeast Asian growing network.
HACCP — Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points
HACCP is a systematic, science-based food safety management system developed by NASA and Pillsbury in the 1960s and now mandated or strongly recommended by food safety authorities worldwide (Codex Alimentarius, FDA, EFSA, SFA Singapore).
The HACCP framework identifies seven principles:
- Conduct a hazard analysis (biological, chemical, physical)
- Identify Critical Control Points (CCPs) in the production process
- Establish critical limits at each CCP
- Monitor CCPs to detect loss of control
- Define corrective actions when a CCP is not under control
- Establish verification procedures
- Maintain documentation and records
Asia Eco Farm's certification: Certificate TH16/9358, issued by SGS (Thailand) Limited under TAS 9024-2021 HACCP Codex Alimentarius standard. Scope covers processing of Roasted Sacha Inchi Seeds, Sacha Inchi Oil, and Sacha Inchi Protein Powder. Valid April 2025 – April 2028.
Why it matters for your brand: When you sell supplements to major retailers or B2B ingredient buyers, you will face supplier qualification audits. A certified HACCP system is the minimum standard most auditors expect. It substantially reduces your liability exposure if a food safety incident occurs upstream — you can demonstrate the hazard was controlled before it reached you.
GMP — Good Hygiene Practices (GHPs)
Good Hygiene Practices (GHPs) — also commonly referred to as GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) — is the foundational quality and hygiene management system that governs how food and supplement ingredients are produced, handled, and processed. Based on the Codex Alimentarius General Principles of Food Hygiene, GHPs cover:
- Facility design, cleanliness, and pest control
- Equipment calibration and maintenance records
- Raw material handling and storage procedures
- Personnel hygiene, training, and qualification
- Waste management and water quality controls
- Customer complaint procedures and recall protocols
Asia Eco Farm's certification: Certificate TH16/9357, issued by SGS (Thailand) Limited under TAS 9023-2021 General Principles of Food Hygiene: Good Hygiene Practices (Codex Alimentarius CXC 1-1969, Latest Revised 2022). Scope covers processing of Roasted Sacha Inchi Seeds, Sacha Inchi Oil, and Sacha Inchi Protein Powder. Valid April 2025 – April 2028.
Why it matters for your brand: The US FDA mandates GMP/GHP compliance for all dietary supplement manufacturers under 21 CFR Part 111. Most reputable EU, UK, and Australian supplement brands require this certification from ingredient suppliers as a condition of onboarding. Our SGS-certified GHPs means you can present a recognised third-party audit record directly to your regulatory team.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I see copies of your current certificates?
Yes. Certificate copies are available on request during our supplier qualification process. Contact our team via the enquiry form and specify which certifications you need for your own audit file.
Are your certifications transferable to my private label product?
The organic certifications cover the ingredient as we supply it. To carry the USDA Organic seal on your finished product label, you would also need to certify your own processing operation under a USDA-approved certifier. We can provide a signed organic transaction certificate (OTC) with each shipment, which your certifier requires as part of your chain of custody. For HACCP and GMP, our certificates demonstrate that the ingredient arrived under controlled conditions — most brand auditors accept this as supplier qualification evidence.
Is Sacha Inchi protein powder approved as an EU Novel Food?
As of 2026, the EU Novel Food authorisation covers Sacha Inchi oil only — not the protein powder. If you are formulating for EU markets, Sacha Inchi oil is the compliant format. Please consult your EU regulatory counsel before launching a Sacha Inchi protein product into EU distribution.
